The SCA Standard Capacitor series are highly stable cost-effective capacitance standards with low temperature coefficient, low losses and a wide range of values of 1 pF - 10,000 µF.
The cost and flexibility make this our most popular capacitance standard.
- Inexpensive solution for calibration of LCR meters
- Ideal for calibration of precision LCR meters where MU of better than 0.02% is required
- 1 pF to 10 pF, are made from precision air capacitors
- 100 pF to 1 µF, are constructed of silvered mica capacitors of very high stability
- above 1 µF, are made with hermetically sealed metallized polypropylene sulfide
- Typical capacitors, observed over decades, have shown random fluctuations of less than + 0.01% in measured capacitance with no evidence of systemic drift.
- The capacitors are available with a variety of connectors such as bnc, and binding posts.
- Connection via 4-terminal bnc pair, similar to the Keysight 16380C Capacitance Standard Set, is also available for direct connection to many LCR meters
New SCA-1nF-8588A, SCA-900pF-8588A and SCA-1.8nF-8588A
IET Labs has designed the SCA-1nF-8588A to calibrate the Fluke 8588A 1 nF capacitance range as discussed in the Verifying the capacitance function of the 8588A Reference Multimeter Applications Page.
The 1 nF range in the Fluke 8588A is the only range that does not use a resistance range and can be checked/calibrated with the SCA-1nF-8588A. The other capacitance ranges can be monitored by observing the change in the appropriate resistance range.
The SCA-1nF-8588A is delivered with an accredited certificate of calibration with calibrated values of capacitance at 50 Hz and 1 kHz using an AH2700A Capacitance Bridge.
